Fault code P1895

Hi guys, I've got the car running again after my cam problems and it ran fine for a day or so but now I have a warning light and a code of P1895 which relates to the TCM to ECM torque reduction circuit. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what was the cause and how was it fixed? Any info would be appreciated...

Obviously in the course of changing the head I distrubed a lot of electical connectors but I've had a good look and I can't see any that I forgot to plug back in or have come loose etc.

Can anyone give me a clue where I might find the components which make up the TCM to ECM circuit? Where are the sensors?

The car is a Vectra estate with an auto box.

I've got some more infomation after driving the car a little more. The car seems down on power a little and is running rich judging by the black plugs and the petrol fumes... After driving for a while the spanner light comes on (usually coinciding with a gear change) and the car gets slower and slower until it won't go any more. If I switch the engine off and restart the light goes out and the car runs ok again for a while and the cycle repeats.

I've swapped the fuel pressure regulator and sensor for ones I know to be ok and that hasn't helped.

I've got a OPCOM on order from eBay so I'm hoping that will shed some light but any information from you guys would be very welcome.

Did you swap the fuel pump with the Reg, its a very common fault with the direct.

Thanks mate, I didn't change the pump because I don't have one but I'm not sure if it's what's causing the trouble in this instance. Isn't the problem with the fuel pump to do with low fuel pressure? I would think mine should be high if I'm running rich?

A copy of OPCOM is on its way so I should be able to measure the fuel pressure. Any ideas what it should be?

I now think that I have the wrong fuel injectors because I changed them when I changed the head recently so that's my next thing to try.

Hi guys, thought I'd update incase anyone else comes along looking for answers. After I got the OPCOM up and running I got the real fault code which was P1192 - fuel pressure. So much for RAC fault code readers from Argos...

I graphed the fuel pressure while out on a test drive and sure enough it wasn't matching what it was supposed to. The blue line is expected pressure, red is actual. I changed the fuel pump and all was well again.
