Hi guys and girls!
I should of brought this up before i went on hoilday last week but this Sunday, theirs a " Run What Ya Brung / Test and Tune" at the North Weald air strip!
I raced two years ago in my old mk4 1.4 astra hatch and it was the best fun ever!!! Its a great day out even if you just want to watch and look around all the different types of cars! 😃
All the info you need to know:..
The main gates open at 8.30am.
Entry into the event is £10 for adults, under 14's are free.
The track fee is a further £20 and you get as many runs as you can make during the day.
Signing on starts 9am, with a capacity of 200 racers. Racing starts at approx 10am until 5pm.
When you sign on your will be given a safety sheet outlining a few do's and don't for our events. There will also be a rider/driver safety briefing over the PA system before we start. For more information read our safety policy.
On your run follow the race marshall's instructions and make your way to the start line.
You will see a 'christmas tree' starting system in front of you. Infra-red beams will enable you to get your starting position. Wait for the starter to give you a green light on the tree and then...Give it some!
At the finish line follow the signs to the return road and make your way slowly back to the start area. At the exit gate you will be given your timing ticket for your run.
You can then make your way back to the queue and run again.
Drivers of open top cars must wear crash helmets.
word of advise - Bring you own food and drink as it's not that great from the stalls
How to get there?? dunno..
North Weald Airfield is easily accessible by road. It is situated approx. 2 miles south east from Junction 7 (Harlow) of the M11 Motorway and is signposted from the motorway roundabout and also off the A414 Harlow - Chelmsford Road.
