Well set about doin the turbo today...
a few pics..

Havnt finished it yet....need to remove the precat and get a new clamp as the old one sheared off....

The old turbo seems to have been a vxr unit also.got the same numbers on it as the new one....so a bit of abugger,i'm just glad it was passing oil...
Also fitted the water pipe mod,and rectified a water leak at the top hose....
Removed the cam cover for painting in star silver,and awating the 2.2 airbox and vxr plug cover in the week.....

THe only worry i have is that the new turbo has play in the shaft,nigh on the same amount of play as the old one.....

A few goodies arrived 2day..

And we ordered 2 new headlamps(1 turned up) From Euro car parts...as the angel eyes are poop, got the Standard lights with the black insides....BArgain price of under £30 a peice...

Also sprayed the cam cover,and the hard pipe....

And I think i was robbed...this clamp cost £35...

I want to do the CDTI airbox mod on mine, but you have to extend the MAF wiring 🙁

Just exteneded the maf wiring on this one matt....4 wires thats all....oh...and

It lives...

We use 1 car all week john,,and it was my cars turn this week,..

The precat has been hacked out of the casing now...u think the 2.2 one is bad to get out...think again....also had to replace the cat as a part of the prcat had come away and burnt a hole thru the main cat....

The Finished product.....well got the new headlights to fit and a new back box..And get rid of the 2 remaining blue hoses.....

And how it looked b4..

That looks so much better Daz, should help the turbo spool up better with the 2.2 box on it.

Blimey!! Never realised the inlet pipe travelled all that way before!! Short air intake is the future!!

Hopefully shud matt,combined with the precat no longer bein there it shud make quite a bit of a diff......one thing that it has lost tho is the pssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttt....as it used to be loud as with the cone on there....

Was that just with the internal dump valve? You can't even hear my turbo spool up on the VXR. They say it makes it louder when you fit the CDTI box, and then even louder if you remove the bonnet lining.

Yeah that was with just the standard dump valve matt.....made hell of a pssshhhhttttttt b4....got to derestrict the airbox 2morrow,,,that mite make abit of a diff too

What you doing with the vent from the cam cover that usually goes into the cross over pipe?

Goin to vent it out the bottom of the car for the time bein...but will fit a catch tank at a l8r date....

1 set of eyebrows
2 x hid bulb holders for astra twist fit lights
2 x main beam bulbs and holders
1 x Led dash kit
1 x cross hatch grill
