2.5" cat back?

i have the pre cat removed from a down pipe and 200 cell cat i got from onlineautomotive (before they stopped selling them) and a cat back system from powerflow (centre box and two rear boxes)

my question is. would it be more benificial if i got a company to change the pipes from the cat, to the middle box, then to the rear ones to a 2.5" pipe?
keeping the boxes from powerflow? (i love the look and sound) or are the boxes that go in the systems with the 2.5" pipes different? ie, bigger entrance and exit pipes? or do they just step up/down to them?

i have found the number of where i got it done and spoke to someone there.

he reackons that i would only need to change the pipe, to 2.5", up to where it splits for the twin exit. as there is more than enough there, cause having two 2" pipes would be as good as the 2.5" to the single back box (if that makes sense lol)

he quoted £170 for 2.5" pipe from cat to where pipe splits and new middle box. does that sound reasonable?

after speaking to the bloke at powerflow, he says its probably not worth the money/effort to change all my standard 2" pipes to 2.5".

what, if any, would be the power gains?

or should i save my money for a decent exhaust manifold?
