WTF 4 Stud Spare

I was doing stuff around the car over the weekend took the spare out which nearly brand new, but i never noticed it before it is 4 :crazy:

Has this been swapped or has other astra owners also got 4 stud spare surley they are not safe or will fit dunno..

All them years i have been carrying that extra weight around lol.

whoever sold the car must of just dropped it in there

there is no legal requirement to have a spare wheel, nor the quality of it

very strange

didnt vxhall stop using 4 stud in 98?

Thanks for the info guys.

Got a can of tyre weld but am now just sourcing a 16" spare.

I wonder how much petrol that has cost me carrying that around for all them years LOL.

Mike i think that the lower engine size astra and corsa have the 4 stud fitment still.

my spare wheel is new but it is a 195/65/15 when i got 16" alloys

i prob get away with it for emergency use but if i fit 17's then i gonna have to rethink about another spare wheel, i could drop in one my 16" alloys as a spare

your best best is to go down scrappies and ask for a 16" steelie that is 5 stud with a 100 offset

I have the same issue too, all my other wheels are 17's and i have 308 setup. But i have heard that the 17" rim doesnt fit in the wheel well.

So 16" spare it is going to be i think.

u know the standard 288m brakes on the vectra v6 sat in snug as standard on the factory fitted 5 spoke 15's

I didnt know that, but i have seen people with the 16's with the 308mm and boy it's tight.

i suppose it could catapult your car over if the caliper sticks into the alloys

Possibly you certainly wouldnt want a stone getting stuck in there.

i remember a bloke with a white nova who dropped a redtop in and took it on a track

for some reason the cambelt cover was not on and he hit the edge of the track and a stone got wedged into his timing gear pmsl

mike vauxhall stopped using 4 studd in 2006 i think on the corsa c but yet again they mite still be using it

:o that's not good, i suppose it's not one of those things that you check when buying a car as you are concentrating on other things

i bought my car 2nd hand a the d1ck head of an ownwer has taken the jack!
i got a flat on my 18's and had to drive it on a flat and get a new tyre!

That really isn't good Si, it's a really good job you haven't needed to use it in the time you've had the car.

I'd just get a can of tyre weld, and get rid of the spare.

Got a can of tyre weld, just seeing if i can get a 16" space saver or somthing.

It got me thinking though about your idea of fitting the sub and amp in that sapce LOL.
