2.2 TIMING CHAIN MARKS

Hi to all.

i am working on a vectra 2.2 z22se, i have changed over the timing kit, all three marks are lined up as per spec and tensioner is in actived etc,

however, when i rotate the engine crank manually before the oil pressure gets up the chain is slack then evens out when the oil comes up, and the timing marks do not line up, even after a few revolutions they still dont line up . . redone the marks a few times now and still they dont line up once turned, i dont wanna put th engine in the car for it not to start; is it normal for the marks not to line up?, any ideas?

thats normal 🙂

it takes about 700 rotations of the engine for the marks to re-align :lol:

once set, thats it, job done 🙂

Last time I opened mine up I looked down and much to my suprise it was all ligned up.. must've been lucky 🙂

i was thinking that the chain got stretched somehow....well if its normal then i am not gonna rotate it 700 times to check. thanks for the help guys, i get on with the rest of the job.
