there seems to be a possiblity it could be a lamba , some people seem to have had that , non s/c though

that code on the 2.2 vectra engine is not lambda related

it is down to the fuel pump / ecu relay located in engine bay or faulty ecu / shot wiring

that is what a stealer ship will advise u if u book it in according to TIS

Hi Vocky,

funnily enough I pulled that relay at lunchtime today and connected it to a 12v supply. I measured the resitance on the normally open and normally closed sides and both were 0.1 ohm (my leads resistance).

the TIS suggests it could be a bad connection of that relay, they certainly have been known to go wrong.

it might be worth trying another relay or even check the two big connectors behind the coolant tank, they can corrode

What are these two connectors behind the coolant tank?

I'm starting to think that if the relay wiring is supsect then connecting a DVM to the fuel pump supply should highlight if there's an issue with the relay/wiring. Do you know if removing the passenger seat and the plastic cover behind the seat gives access to the pump?

My gut feeling is that it is not in this area - I would have thought that after having the SC conversion it would be more likley that either there is an air leak on the intake or the fuel pump cannot deliver enough under full acceleration. I'm thinking of getting a remote fuel pressure gauge and monitoring the output, but this is all starting to look expensive, and possibly a waste of money.

Hi,

Jon from Courtney rang me this morning.

They have seen the problem before on Supercharger conversions. The mixture is only lean when the engine is cold under very slight throttle openings. It's competely down to the mapping and should be resolved soon 😃 Just have to warm the car slightly before driving in the mean time.

Hi, sorry to resurect this one, but now I'm using the car more frequently I've found the P1171 error occurs about once every 20 miles when the engine is fully warm. The freeze frame data I keep downloading shows that that it has always occured when the engine is at operating temperature - something I missed before.

What's odd is that I've just done a Car Limits day and it happened about 8 times on the drive there - no times during the event - and about 3 times on the way home. The freeze frame data shows a similar MAP pressure and engine revs so it looks like it's when cruising that it occurs. On the way home I had a couple of random missfires while cruising under a slight throttle and also got a new error code P1514.

I've now got a Scangauge II but am finding it a real pain that the fan keeps coming on and I keep have to reset the stored error. It's not enough to put the EML light on, so I only know the fan is on when in traffic/junctions etc.

Has anyone with an SC Z22SE had similar issues?

So far I've fixed my vacuum servo leak and changed the Lambda 1 sensor.
