Not Happy With Blueflame Fit

I am not happy with the way my Blueflame exhaust fits. I went on a nearly 200 mile hike to go and collect it today, then when I got back I went to get it fitted. I took it to Tyre Spot and they fitted it up for me. They told me it was not a very good fit as the exhaust was tight up against the tank on the rear. It was also sitting on a bracket close to the rear beam. I then took it away from the garage fitted up and off I went. I took it to another garage and they had a look at it. They said it was a terrible fit, they then noticed it was hitting off my rear passenger spring and sitting tight in a few places. It's got hardly any flex. I asked them how much to put it right and they said they would need to replace the centre section and modify the back box, costing £180 🙁 . Why is it such a crap fit if it's for an Astra Turbo? Cheers

The first garage even cut some rubber and put it between the exhaust and my petrol tank to stop it touching

wow that fit is really crap. i would be pissed off witht that shame you cant sort it out easy.

This could be sorted out very easily. You just need to bend the hangers slightly and also change your rubbers to allow some more movement. Don't panic Mark, it can be sorted. You would really need someone to give you a hand and it would need to be up on a ramp.

Can I get better rubbers for it? I think the place that fitted it just wanted me to buy one of their own Power Flow exhausts. I have nearly got it better than it was but now it's blowing from the centre section to the cat, blowing from the top part (Exhaust meets the floor)

I've got about 3 different types of rubbers under my car. Vectra, Astra and Halfords own!! Woohoo!!

Lol. I might pop into Halfords tomorrow. I have left it at this, it's probably the best it's going to get and at least it's not touching the spring.....

Thats looks a similar fit to my powerslow one now mate, the box is very close the nearside rear spring and is just as close to the wheel well!

Is that how your PowerFlow one sits like mine above? I think mine should be ok now, just need to get that blowing sorted out.

Yes mate pretty much, i'll take a pic tomorrow and post it up. There's very little room either side of the box, its almost touching the spring and the wheel well. I've been getting a knocking/ rattling noise all the time when i'm driving and i'm fairly certain its my exhaust although i took alook at it today and there's notmuch play in it at all!

Booked in at Urban Racing in st.helens at the end of the month for a custom system, they use blueflame stainless but fit it better! The guy did comment that blueflame materials are great but their fit is shit!
