Well the chain kit arrived on monday, worked on it every arvo after work and got it finished and cranked it over yesterday, (thursday).
I was dissapointed to still hear the tinny rattleing noise 🙁 at least thats one thing to cross off the list and set my mind at ease for the next 100 odd kms.
So the question is, wheres that noise coming from?
Parked in the middle off two cars i started it up when it was cold and could hear the sound alot clearer as the sound rebounded off the cars back to me, it sounded more rearward of the cam cover, it sounds like something is loose and when the engine vibrates it causes something to rattle, its like it could be the heat shields loose but its not.
i checked the exhaust manifold and theres no cracks in it, i heard it could be a tappet? but i would like to eliminate other things before i check that.
Im running out of ideas of what it could be?? so any other suggestions would be great.
On another note, with the new chains in place, i didnt notice to much difference, but the one thing i did notice was when i used to take off or drive slow the engine use to shudder like it was going to conk out, (like taking off in third gear) but now it doesnt do it at all, i even tried to make it do it and it wouldnt, so im please with that 😃
But again any ideas in what the noise is i would appreceate it.
