replacing ECU

hi all

i am lookin to replace my ecu as it is faulty was going to try a scrap yard

what i was needin to know is will i need to get a ecu from a car that had cruise control or will it not matter

I don't think it will matter if it has traction control or not as that can be enabled seperately.

The main concern will be that the ECU will be mapped to your car, so my understanding is that it will need a Vauxhall dealer to set it up.

would it matter that it was coming out of a vectra and goin into an astra?

Local dealer qouted me £750 for ecu for vectra 2.2.

u can pick up ecu sets on ebay for vectras for a ton

i also have a set lying about

u need the chip / transponder / ecu to make sure it all works
