Timing chain!

Hi guys,

Got a Astra Coupe 2.2 a couple of months back got it at 86k now on 94k.

Worried about a few things and think it could be the timing chain, just wanna know what you guys think.
When it first starts anytime regardless of temperature it always goes to 1500rpm i.e choke and drives like S**T untill the engine is warm, really annoys the hell out of me.
Then when the engine is warm the revs go to around 650-750rpm seems really low considering my previous cars all idle at 900rpm and at the mo sounds really tickey on idle.

Now sometimes when I drive it is really hesitant in 2nd & 3rd around 3500rpm.

Now since owning the car, I have done the Oil, new filter, new plugs, new air filter what has been done twice since my ownership once at 86k and again at 92k. Got it booked in to get Throttle body cleaned, engine clean and Fuel filter done.

But looking for ideas to stop the hesitation and get a better idle speed.

If there is no reciepts of it been done then i would get the chain done.

What you are talking about with the high rpm at start up and idle rpm sounds normal. The ticking noise could be a sticky lifter. does it sound worse from cold start up this is a sign of the chain?

Mine goes to 1500rpm then drops fairly fast.

If you look at any graphs from the z22se around the 3 -3.5K there is massive torque dip again this is normal.

Doing the fuel filter / tb / etc will all help. It may also be worth cleaning the EGR valve or even blocking it off.

Not really the car drives absolutly fine when warm, just when you first start in the morning it takes 3/4 of mile and if I do not rev it past 2400 rpm when I change gear it almost judders.

Gonna look at putting a new EGR Valve, and prob redo the oil and filter with a new panel filter.

clean the tb and then reset the ecu

get the chain replaced soon as they are designed to be replaced at 100,000 miles
