hello all

have been offered one of these its from an old man around by me he has had it since new only done 12k and its mint

its not a bad price

anyone know anything about these ?

what to look for etc ?

don't know much about them, sounds a good buy, but can you still get bits for them?

Never owned one of them but i had a rover 200 with the non vvc 1.8 in it and it was pretty rapid but just started falling to pieces after a while ie leakey sun roof, knackered elec window regulators, electrical problems, gearbox mount went (that werent funny :crazy🙂 and a sticky o/s/f caliper but ur one only havin 15k miles or so on clock n only one owner sounds ok, i also never really had any issues getting rover parts, a local landrover main dealer near me could order parts for me 😃 i really like the look of the zrs tho with the 17"s n bodykit

well had a look about seems you can anything for them still and there are a few tunners of them around aswell.

may go fo a test drive in it see what it goes like ?

They go very well! Build quality isn't upto much but other than that they're fine. A friend of mine had one and I drove it on several occasions. It will run rings round the 2.2 Astra. And they rev like a biatch!!

head gasket failure is a very common fault on those engines

It has only covered 12k but I think I would have it done anyway just to know it should be ok for a few miles like

Agreed, very common problem. Quick little car though, i was looking at getting one before i got the Astra.

whats the asking price for the car?

they are very quick cars for what they are with 1 or 2 mods you can get them to do 0-60 in 6 seconds. as its only got 12k on the clock i wouldnt get the gasket done just keep an eye on it and then when it does go get the thicker land rover gasket on it and it should be fine as long as its set properly.

Ive got one sat on my drive, and it's been their for 10 month..... the worst car ever head gasket, exhaust system, coil pack, electrics goosed up water gasket tappets lol list goes on the astra kicks this cars arse.
