Got offered a vti civic for absolute buttons as the owner took it on a trade in and wanted rid of it.... its completly standard apart from lowering springs thrown in for nothing when I took it 8)

so I thought, I aint gettin rid of the vectra for a little civic but I wouldnt mind making a time-attack vehicle :think: :think:

So here she was when I got her last week...

So far I have the interior stripped, dash out and have fabricated the roll cage cheers..
It has to be a minimum of 6 point cage and no "dash doggers" for irish time attack series :crazy:

Will throw more pics up over the next few weeks... (while I wait on those lazy c*nts at piper to send my cams back 🙁 waiting a month now!)

had a bit of time to work on the cage today so her she is... just need a harness bar and window brace then I'll take it all out to spray it... Going with the whole green and black idea cheers..

and the view from outside

I give the black interior out of the car to a friend who wanted to get rid of his dark grey interior, so when he swaps all he's giving me his dash so I can chop the weight out of it and fit it back into mine. :thumbup:

His vti coupe is at a proven 196bhp on the b16a engine but he's stripping it now to add b16b pistons to the b16a block which will up his CR to 12:1! he then hopes to see 215 when mapped so theres a lot can be done with these beauts :lol: :lol:

edit* forgot to add he's fitting toda spec b cams, double springs and retainers to let him raise the limit to 9300 :geek:

you dont mess about do you when is the time attack competition? i would love a project car to play with but have nowhere to store it, its so hard doin jobs on your daily driver and bein under pressure to get it back on the road for monday morning good luck to you

Time attack started last week and the next one is on the day after my daughters christening this month so I doubt I'll be fit to see let alone drive the next day :lol: :lol: cheers.. :wink: I was hoping to get the car out for the may event but it would only be practice for next years season because with missing the first 2 events I doubt I could get enough points to make it even into the top ten :o so I'll use this year to set the car up for next year and win all before me :lol: :lol: :thumbup:

Should have a bit of progress at the weekend on this... I'm still waiting on getting my dash back so I can fit it up to the cage, see what I can remove, then take the cage out for painting. showo..

The internal heater system is gonna have to go on a diet cos she's one hoooooge bitch... :o Done a few breathing mods on the engine aswell so will throw the pics up at the weekend :thumbup:

The brother in law done a civic for time attack and before I welded in his cage he took all the tar mats off the floor with a chisel. We put the scrapings into a can to see how much weight he saved and TBH I think for all the hastle invoved in taking it off I'd rather just drop a steamy one down a bog before a race, same difference :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Well heres a quick update...

Got the dash back but he forgot to give me the dials so couldnt get all finished but here it is,

door bar view... fcuk me these took some working out to get angles and bends spot on showo..

quick pic of how the door bars come out, which will make fitting bucket seats nice and easy :mrgreen:

And the new view from outside, very discreet looking at the moment...

I have the stopper handle mounted on the passenger wing aswell but forgot to take a pic :oops: The next thing is paint the wheels black and I aquired a set of prelude calipers to do the 288mm conversion on the front brakes, so I'm gonna rebuild the calipers before they go in.

Then I need to look at fia approved seats and harnesses but first I got 15 doors to hang in my new house along with skirting and arcitrave :o
