strange spongey clutch feeling

twice today my clutch has felt really weird like its only got half its original travel and a bit spongey feeling when pressing down but if i pump it a few times its fine again anyone any ideas does this sound like something on the way out ive never felt this before untill today

not sure but may be your slave cylinder try bleeding it
im sure somebody will know better than me

do you know how to bleed it and im not overly sure of its location either notsure.gif

i think its on the top of the gearbox pipe leading into round block with a nipple on it
not a very good pick just took it with phone out of manual

is it under bonnet at back or under car i need to look

I would suggest that your slave cylinder may have leaking seals. How old is the car? Mine went at around 38k.

sounds like a leaking slave cylinder which means new one and clutch as it prob contaimtaned now

the car is 03 plate its only got 32000 miles though and its been ok since this post if it was the cylinder seals would the problem not get worse quickly and if it is the clutch and cylinder is it worth going for the after market clutch an cylinder thta courtneys do

I've got the uprated Courtenay clutch, slave and lightened flywheel. But, i never realised that my slave cylinder had a problem until it was removed from the box. If you've not had any issues since, maybe worth waiting to see how things go before spending out. To quote Jon Shield, 'Wait until it manifests itself'.
