Some would say it is the same but i disagree.
Mopping normally done at a body shop will use wool heads with a rotary, in the correct hands is good but i have seen mopping leave alot of micro marring / holagramming and can remove alot of paint.
Getting it detailed esp with a pc (Dual Action) polisher which will invole many stages using different grade polishes using different foam pads. Used right you should get a very good finish to your paintwork. somone not knowing how to use a PC can also make a mess on your car as well as mopping. So if you decide to go down either avenue i would ask to see previous work.
