Blue_Eyes Hi all, as you know my car failed the MOT on the rear coils/springs been broken and I just got them replaced at the cost of 265e fully fitted, I’m just wondering if this is a good price. I got the standard springs and now im thinking I should of got lower springs while I had the chance.
sdbutler10 wat 262 thats way to much in my eyes!!! it only take 30-40 mins to fir both rear srpings and u can pick up a compleate lowering kit off ebay for about 100.
Blue_Eyes I thought it was over the top but he say’s its because I got the original parts which cost 196 incl Vat then the rest for labour. I’m going to call opel tomorrow to see how much they are . He also said they are three types of springs for the Astra coupe which all go up in price and I was lucky that mine where the 196 mark. This is just a guy with a small garage who got the parts from the local opel dealer and if he charges me the same as a dealer, well thats the end of our working relationship.
Daniel thats not to good like scott said ya could get a good kit £100 and its not that hard a job taking em out and putting new 1s in 🙂
Matt That's really expensive mate, you can get an Eibach Pro kit (all four springs) for £164. The rear springs are a piece of piss to replace as well, it's the front ones which take a little longer.
MikeS think most ppl panic when it comes to failed mot's, they just want their car sorted asap without any fuss i hold my hands up and say i been bent over by mot stations so i dont have to mess around trying to find a place to do repairs

cpwfos its not fair at all im so lucky to have a mate thats an mot inspector but in the past ive been done many a time :roll:
Blue_Eyes HI all, I called 3 to 4 opel dealers to see what they would charged and it goes like this… 1. 361.56e 2. 286.00e 3. 450.00e and this is fully fitted + Vat. So it looks like I saved a little cash even tough I could of gotten cheaper parts Seeing I got original parts, I cant really complain . What you think?
