robo22sri hi guys as you know i havent had much luck with my astra! it has started to miss fire all the time now! i have done the usual things to find out what it is, like taking each ht lead off and it doesnt make any difference, but i tried it earlier and it dies! i dont know what else to do? thanks guys for your help cheers..
SriSte I think a miss fire is what killed the engine in the grey vectra i'm working on, It damages the piston rings. I didn't figure out what was wrong with it unfortunately, I changed the engine. 🙁 edit sorry didnt realise it was a 2.0 eco
robo22sri its strange its has spark from the coil pack, maybe the leads are fooked! does anyone have a set of leads for a x20xev?
vocky they do suffer from dodgy coil packs and ht leads, so they are worth swapping with another engine to test
robo22sri i dont know anyone with a x20xev neil, i dont want to waste £50 on coil pack and leads seeing as the engine is dead soon 🙁
vocky I've had a few of those engines in various vectras, the mis-fires were always caused by either the coil pack or leads edit or the cam sensor :thumbup:
robo22sri dont know if this helps, i drove it this morning and it dosent miss fire if i have my foot half on the accelerator! its starts miss firing when i put my foot right down! could it be dirty injectors???
