Sjdickso In theory this should work but i bet you will just get a more direct signal strength rather then a general boosted signal.
Matt That is what I'm after. I want to direct everything what would be going to the wrong side of the house back inwards.
zoots Here's another one http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-WIF ... n-Booster/ Found this too http://zedomax.com/blog/2007/09/28/diy- ... 2-3-times/
Matt I've not done it yet, my printer at home is fucked, and I've been busy today getting the car ready for the weeked.
Matt To be honest now, I don't think I even need to do this now I have a new router. Before, my Thompson router was showing 50% signal strength upstairs, and only given 26mb connection to my Desktop. Since swapping to a Netgear DG834GT, it's showing a full 54mb connection with 90% signal strength.
dodger i didn't know that a wireless router could make that much of a difference, is the thompson an old model? i suppose technology has moved on a got better with a stronger transmit and recieve range.
Matt No, the Thompson isn't a particularly old model, but I did notice the aerial on the Thompson was smaller than the one on the Netgear. I've always liked Netgear as well, and been wanting the DG834GT for a while.
MikeS wrt54g with dd wrt firmware is the bollox , but it is for cable 🙂 as for wireless range i would go down the homeplug route, u can pick up 200 Mb homeplugs for 30 quid each www.solwise.co.uk
