Oil nozzle

How do I tell if my engine has the uprated oil nozzle? I hear the nut with cuts in corners isn't a reliable way to tell.

stip the engine down and takeing a look is the only really way to know

My motor had the cam chain done before I bought it, do you think they'd have done the nozzle? Does the chain only come in a kit with the nozzle, or could he have bought the chain seperate?

hi there,your best getting benny on here 2 do your chain mate,he only charges £250.00,he done mine 2 months ago only took him 2and half hours.hes well clued up on these cars.turned out mine had been done but chain was a bit worn but for £250 quid money well spent and peace of mind wont have to touch it again.

I agree with Benny, strip it down and check, its the only guaranteed way to know and if its not been changed then i would get it changed

When you say strip engine down, is that just cam chain cover off? What's difference between the 2 nozzles?

not just the cam chain cover, you have to take the bottom chain cover, which involves a bit of messing, bottom pulley wheel, fan belt tensioner and anything you need to remove to remove the bolts from the casing, i think there are about 12 10mm bolts holding the cover on

i think early nozzle had a copper insert which got clogged up easily when element filter starts to break down and new nozzle is hollow :think: i think
