OE grill with a bit of coding

I currently have a Irmsher cross hatch grill but thought i may sell it and go back to OE. I liked how timmee had his new corsa colour coded so.

I already had the old grill but it was ditched apart from the chrome grill, Rob sold me spare at a very good price :thumbup:

I removed the chrome V and centre badge.

Key'd the surface sanding with 400 then 600 W&D. I wasnt 100% sure how the plastic primer would bond to the surface so i gave it two coats of plastic filler primer left 24hrs and then sanded back then standard plastic primer, currently it has two coats of normal plastic primer.

Then the chrome and the painted one togeather

I should get this done for the weekend more photos to follow.

Only thing i am not sure is if i should spray the outer edge of the centre badge or leave it chrome dunno..

I quite like the OE look but slightly modded so will see how it goes.

Looks good, Ive followed the trend and always 1st mod...the grille, the V-grille does have a nice look to it Ive always thought.
Gonna look neat mate.

i sprayed the griffin when i did mine. i dod it green along with the V i did green as well.
it is really fiddley spraying the griffin but worth it. make sure you spray the chrome around the badge as well.

Looks good, I remember doing a bit of modding on my old Sri 2.2 as I was not happy with the standard grill.

Well here we go.

I decided to do the centre section it was slightly tricky and after pealing back the tape i wasnt 100% happy but when all put back togeather i think it looks good.

After 4 coats of colour

Dont know if you see can see but the flake popped quite well when the sun popped out.

Then all put back togeather.

Gave a car a fairly good wash, see the poor beading car hasnt be wax'd in a couple of months. Before i polished the car i fitted the grill.

I think so, could do with some funds to pay for some new discs so looks like the Irmsher one is going to go.

but... you've should repaint the whole grill to make it look brand new 🙂

thats what i done on my old black astra looks smart m8 🙂 think it just looks better and loads ppl have the after math 1 lol
