It could only happen to me!
Last weekend, I finished work mid afternoon and decided to wash the wifes car as it was looking a little sorry for itself. Filled up the bucket with NXT shampoo and grabbed the Meguiars Angled wheel brush. I set about cleaning the wheels getting all the crap out of the spokes. After vigorously cleaning them, I rinsed out the brush and started to shake out the water in a downward stroke fashion.
I was stood within about 2 mtrs of the side of the car. All of a sudden, to my horror, the head of the brush handle detached itself and flew off into the side of the rear passenger door. The head is meant to be detachable but only when you push the clips in on the sides of the head.
So i'm now left holding my own head in my hands in complete shock at the fuckin gurt dent in the side of the car. Its right at the base of the B pillar, just under the window. I later emailed Meguiars to make them aware of the problem. They swiftly contacted me asking all sorts of questions about what had happened. Yesterday, Friday, a chap called Dominik from Meguiars arrived to assess the damage to the car and take the brush away for inspection. He admitted straight away that the locking mechanism appeared to be faulty. He then left with the brush and has asked me to send in a statement. This will then be sent on to Meguiars USA. He said that he can't promise that the car will be repaired at their cost but he will try to achieve a positive outcome.
I'm very impressed with the level of care that they have shown. Absolutely first class, just like their products. I'll keep you all updated.
