this is a bit out there, but was just looking through haynes manual.

and would the "evaporative emission system purge valve" cause my problem of poor idling when i first start the car? maybe it is letting the fumes in while car is cold? rather than waitnig till engine is warm to release the built up fumes into inlet. it is putting them in while cold. with choke etc could this be giving me the intial high, then irratic revs?

just a thought.

the little pump connected to the air box is for your fumes

doesnt mean anything m8 as we all have thatcode stored at some point 🙂

you can safely blank that off for testing, it just allows the fuel tank fumes to enter the engine rather than vent to atmosphere

thought it was a long shot......but will try blanking it off.

best to just remove pipe going into pump and leave hanging? or blank bit going into inlet manifold?

process of elimination at the mo.

will look into buying a obd2 reader later today. need to research into them. see whats the best one to get.
