Just been onto my ISP's site BeThere said: Some information regarding the latency issues - at the moment there is a major Fibre Failure in Sheffield area, and the traffic is being re-routed through the secondary links. You might experience high pings while the the failure is repaired. We apologise for the inconvenience, unfortunately, there is still no ETA. That would explain it then!
john2666 i guess your running your broadband through cable then, its the best when its running, at least they have sorted an alternative solution for you unlike BT lines, when that goes down your f*****d
MikeS i use to have bethere and the connection got progressivly worse over a 12 month period more and more packet loss appeared on the first few hops and i started to lose bandwidth as a result of congestion
Matt I've been with them now for about 15 months, and the only problem I've found is their DNS servers are a bit crap, so I've switched to OpenDNS and it's much better.
