Bits for a Service

I'm going to service the car myself, and wondered if anyone knows any good places (other than Hellfrauds) to get the stuff from.

I'm going to need:

Oil Filter
Oil
Pollen Filter
Front Discs
Front Pads
Spark Plugs

The car is a 2002 1.6 16v. Also, there is no sticker on the engine giving me the engine code. Is there any way I can find this out, although I think its the Z16XE.

As already said vx is your best bet. The prices they charge are resonable to, probley cheaper then halfords etc....

nice one, I've been given links for the kits on e-bay, Astra Service Kit, which works out at £32.50 in p&p, and while I'm getting my hands mucky, I want to replace the front discs and pads as well, Astra G Discs and Pads which works out at £70, so all in all, £102.50 for a full service.

Does that seem like a reasonable price, as Halfords were selling the discs and pads for £50, and I don't need the air filter from the service kit, as I have a pipercross filter at the minute, so will just give that a clean and an oiling up.

good price on the service kit i would say as it's all geniune vauxhall stuff.email the seller and seee if he will do it with out the air filter may knock a couple of quid off for you 😃

as for the brakes thats down to you matt,what sort of quality are halfords notsure.gif

I don't know really, I've never used Halfords brakes before, I've always used Red.Dot on all my old cars. I think I'll go for the genuine Vauxhall stuff to be honest. Might see if he will do a deal on delivery if I order them all at the same time.
