Does anyone know if the mobile laser/camera van's need the doors open to operate? Or can they zap you from inside the vehicle through the window at the back?

I was going down the slip road on to the A9 at Perth near Tesco, and the buggers were sitting in the layby towards the inveralmond roundabout.

The van was shut up tight, although i assume they can zap you through the tinted window in the back of the van.

sometimes there there to monitor traffic and not to catch speeders was there the lines for a mobile speed camera there

Don't think so, just a van sitting there, nothing else was visible.

They work through the tinted windows or the cameras are visable in cut outs above the rear doors,

They don't need flippin lines on the road.

I drove 320 miles on Thursday and in the last mile before I got home I went past a mobile speed camera at an indicated 35mph on me clock, so I am shitting meself aswell

If it was an "indicated" 35mph on your clock, you might be lucky, due to the clocks being out by ~ 1 or 2 mph. I've been on 350miles drives in my astra, and the GPS was showing 70mph, and the clock was nearer 75mph.

i am sh1tting myself as well was in livingston the other morning doing about 55 - 60 with some tw4t up my backside in a jeep when i saw the van ahead and hit the brakes. 50 limit.

yeah livi is getting quite bad with the traffic police and mobile police cams its prob to do with all the young drivers that are not insured :evil:

what gets me is at 9 an the morning in livi they bust people going to work when the traffic flow is up yet at night when the young lads are racing each other up the road at over a 100mph they are nowhere to be seen :evil:
