oil in my inlet mainfold

was just wondering, i took the air pipe and k&n filter off and the carb valeve thing and i looked in side my inlet manifold and it was loads off oil in there (a good cups worth) just wondered if this is normal or i have a problem on my hands the car seems to run fine but just wanna make sure thanks guys tucker

Hi, I had the same problem and im told it is normal, nothing to worry about. I notice it when I did the same as you but it wasn’t there the time before that so I did get worried but as I said its normal. I just cleaned it out with tissue.

get some carb cleaner and give the throttle body a good clean then leave the valve open so the carb cleaner can evaporate for a good hour

also suggest getting catch tank and route the pipework through that and back to air intake pipe, atleast u wont get sludge buildup

also do egr mod 🙂

and whats a catch tank were can i get this from and whats a egr mod

As said this oil is normal.

You will just need to route some more fuel piping and then all the nasty vapour will sit in the tank. You can blank off the EGR valve and leave the valve half on half or you can buy a EGR cheater from the site.

I fitted an oil catch tank when I fitted a brand new 2.4 inlet manifold, I ran this for over a thousand miles and when I removed the manifold it was still 'oil free', so the oil appears to come from the cam cover breather pipe
