Wiswion everything begins june 17 2004... went to Saturn dealer and tried this car the white one... vti "cvt" (auto) i kept it stock "a rental" loved the way the car handles and it accelerate so smoothly ............ so 2 years later i went for a standard 5-speed tranny and a red one both cars side by side on june 8th 2006 then the 9th of june i took possession of the newly fresh baby had 394 miles on the odometer... 1st mod in the week... painted engine cover to match the car about a year later installed some lowering springs (from a canadian company) Canuck Motorsports 1.6" all around... stiffer but handles way better to see diff in drop mine is the lowest one lol thena new sets of shoes.. Konig wheels 17x7" wrapped in Nankang & hankook tires 215/45r17 a bit later got her some blackhousing headlight early this year a "new" oem mp3 stereo to replace mine (new one installed) costed about 1/4 of the retail price some fog light and painted trunk lid then there was still somthing missin about the handling... couldn,t even turn a corner over 60 mph... wtf? so a rear sway bar helped alot got headlight/taillight tinted "night shaded" same time got rid of charcoal/red duo on trunk lid so all black 🙂 ((fresly tinted head)) painted brakes then wrapped the black plastic trim on carbon vynil got a deal on a redline shock/strut (and some body parts) traded a cell phone for all these parts all 4 roof rails, left front and rear body front strut+ springs and rear shock painted the shock silver and red roof rail black and freshly installed on the car and changed the stereo bezel "painted" finally last mod this october a friend made this strut bar the 60 mph corner i can now take them at 80 safely :p and i still love my car.. next should be 2.0 supercharger or turbokit from the "new" 2.0 once warranty is dead lol so in 15000 miles perfect handling for a 145hp car and wheel spacers are coming too soon
Matt Just noticed that it comes with drum brakes on the rear. That does suprise me for a car with 145bhp. Most things with over 100bhp over here come with discs on the rear. Looks great though, and a real transformation from when you first got it.
Wiswion and i'm about to start a rear drum to disc conversion... drums in rear here are very common lol... you have them on lower model/trim for the drum to disk i was thinkin of getting the "redline" rear axle wich have discs and simply do a 5 to 4 lug conversion... shouldn't be too hard to do specially when you can build it next to the car then install it lol (you can take your time enough) oh and 1 last thing... it's body is made of plastic lol... so compared to his brother(the cobalt or g5) i'm 200lbs lighter and i'm 4 door... like the mazda rx-8
Wiswion tried wheel spacer today here are the pics front overall look from front before rear installed rear final result compared to stock with without
Wiswion goin to paint my alloys this month and probably a polsih+ high temp clear or paint valve cover
sdbutler10 looing good mate buy you deff need to paint the roof black to match the rails it looks a bit odd :S but some good work there mate 😃
Wiswion roof is goin black this summer (i hope) sdbutler10 said: also dont you have to have a front number plate then? not here 🙂 rear only... well front if you want but not needed
Wiswion but if i could afford it i would buy a complete astra body (2001 version) well like yours i think they look even better than ours
Wiswion but possibly next "visual parts" will be that rear bodylip with the center exhaust twin-tip look (the lip is only to hide my bumper scratches lol) the current owner owe me around 460$$ USD so i'll let him know full refund or 100$ and the rear lip 🙂
Wiswion here is the last touch for now stock vs shaded(new shade) what u guys think? and keep in mind that is Niteshade... there is no removable cover or tint film
