pics/ideas of where to put/run cold air feed

i tried fitting a vec c air snorkel/pipe to my vec b......no luck!! doesnt fit at all!!!

so was thinking of running a new feed/pipe and get rid of old one (which was bit butchered when removing it :oops: ) as i have got the bumper off.

but was wondering what people have used and where the pipe goes.

for time being im gonna keep standard filter box.

i seen people who used the dyson hoover expandable piping

on the side of the air box closest to the wing you will see an aparture [extension of the inner wing]

now that is a good place for cold air intake and i seen ppl drill holes in their airbox next to this

tumble drier ducting

you see on the calibra you got a flap on the bottom of the bumper, now inside that area when u open the flap there is a pipe that runs up the wing connecting to the underneath of the airbox

i wonder if we could do something similiar to the vectra, cold air feed going from bumper up to the air box feed

i was even thinking about going extreme and cutting hole in bumper!! but think that will be a future job.

was going to buy some 3" pipe tomorrow and have a play. was probably gonna run it alone original path. but will have a play.

ooohhh, idea. the 3" pipe from box, then cut off end of vec c pipe (big entrance) then squeeze pipe over end and place behind upper grill/slam pannel!!

3" stainless pipe in bumper.... You could use black drainpipe to be secretive but I didnt have time :shifty:

This was how I had it though if you want it descreet but dont think it gives as much air in (see the 3" flexi pipe it joins to in background)

The other end of the flexi pipe.... When the pipe coming out the airbox comes under the headlight I cut it off there and jubilee clipped the flexi to it so it took the shape of the cut origional pipe. Hope this helps, it works a treat for me :wave:

think will keep fiddling and see what i come up with.

good idea though mate, like the suble one. but then also like the in your face silver one!! how did you fix it in place there?

Cut the hole for it very tight and then used tiger seal on the back to stop it ever coming out because it cant fall back in :lol:

The best thing you can do is clear your schedule, whip the bumper off and see whats there and make it up as you go, thats what I did both times but I definatley thought the 3" stainless one was a serious improvement in air flow cheers..

going to buy some 3" flexi hose today. as bumper is still off, will have a fiddle!

will let you know what i decided in the end.

Get the dremmil out and cut a chunk out of the wing! that'll do it!

i sort of did what shaun did ^^^^^^^ but kept the old pipe in. but instead of the long tube like resonator, i cut (bodged) the big wide oval end of the vec c pipe. and put it from the lower grill, up to standard pipe.
