Saab Viggen 308mm Brake Discs!!

At last!!!!! The holy grail of GENUINE GM part brake discs. 308mm and grooved. PART # 5084769

Thankyou to Simon for bringing these discs to my attention. After much internet searching I failed to locate them. After a 5 minute call to my local Saab dealer today I can now tell you all that the discs are for a Saab 9-3 Viggen. A Turbo version with 230bhp and 260lbs torque.

This is a direct fitment on a Vauxhall as its a GM part number. So if you are looking for a big brake upgrade, these are the puppies!!

From Saab part dept. they are £182 +VAT.

I have now trawled the net further with the part # and there are several online Saab sites that will supply these discs at around £140 + Shipping from the USA.

I got some OEM brembo discs from them a couple of years ago - still fine even using aggressive race pads and after several track days.

I just looked up the import price and its $320 or $376 Express!! Hoolay shat!!

I did see elkparts listed and the genuine discs are £163 from them. Were the Brembo discs grooved or plain?

I did wonder about that Si. Maybe just a standard disc for illustration purpose? But the genuine discs are quite expensive.

Other Saabs that app have the same 308mm fitment are

Saab 9-3 1.8 16V (308MM DISC) 03->
Saab 9-3 2.0 T 16V (308MM DISC) 98-02
Saab 9-3 2.2 TID (308MM DISC) 98-02
Saab 9-5 2.3 T (308mm FRONT DISC) 97->

But no part numbers Johnnys done all the hard work by find the correct numbers out.

Dont think so think they are just the discs, mine are OEM GM carriers.

i now these are the disc i was just thinking on them cars they had same calipers as us ?? and would need the carriers too ???

TBH, if you are looking to upgrade to 308mm then you would be better off sourcing the carriers from LMF or directly from Vauxhall. Saab prices are hideous.

As Johnny says just get the upgrade kit from LMF. Dont think Saab do the kits that would fit and if they do i would imagine they would cost a fortune.

its just i want to keep my 16in wheels coz i thought scott said they fit but on lmf site says needs 17in rims min 🙁 and thought it might be cheeper to get a carrier off an old saab just to check lol

I have heard people say that 308's fit on 16's but they are mega tight.

I have read on here also that 16's are a gnats cock fit with 308's. LMF do recommend the minimum size of 17" wheels. If it is possible to get them under 16" wheels, you would not be able to have balance weights fitted internally on the inner wheel surface.
