as you have probably noticed its been snowing a bit lately ,and the councils have been using a lot of grit so much so that the dozy bastards have nearly ran out , and they havent bought enough in the first place.
This is where i come in ,i work at one of only 3 places in the uk that produces salt.
two of the mines only mine salt and cant up there output anymore , we mine potash and salt is our waste product we sell it but not for very much £5 a ton , (potash sells at £500 a ton) but seems as if the highways agency and heads of councils have come begging to our door ,we have decided to mine salt for two weeks solid (normally 2 days a week) just to keep the country going .
so forget about the fact that the stuff corrodes the fuck out of your car and wheels ( i park my car about 50m away from a pile of 30000 tonnes of the stuff) and feel free to thank me for doing my bit to keep the roads of the uk snow and ice free!
oh yeah the councils are that desperate they are even thinking of mixing potash in with the salt, potash being a fertiliser ,think thistles at the side of the road the size of jacks beanstalk.
