bump strips :)

i got round to colour coding my strips today look really good not put back on the car yet but will do after work 2mro and i get some pics up too see what ya think 🙂 also put some new 6b9 in the rear where the standed speckers are and omg how much fun isit wid them little clips lol

god my car is so dirty i need to give it a good wash polish and wax me thinks lol but its too cold lol but what ya think ??? :thumbup: :thumbdown:

Nice one Danny, doing the bump strips really does finish the sides off. Don't know why VX didn't paint them in the first place.

also done this now too i getting spary happy lol thinking about doing the mirrors so theres no black trim ???

Looks good mate. Did you sand the bump strips flat before painting them? I didn't do mine enough, and when we did Si's we made sure they were fully smooth, and it gave a much better finish.

Is there any one that can advise? or help, if I get some from the scrapy and do them then can I replace the ones that are in???

Ball's I just went over the primer with 600 w&d and took it all the way back on the edge's!!!

yay, great effort............ I really am not cut out for tinkering!

That's fine though mate, just shows that the edges were not level with the rest of the primer. How many layers have you used so far? I think I used about 4 layers of primer (plus 2 layers of plastic primer).

You may want to try using a finer paper though, 800 is about right for working on the primer.

Actually got them done almost, only a few more coats of lacquer and they should be there!!

I did something and didn't brake it much!!

What you really want is a rear set from a 5 door, as they fit in the front, and means you can de-lock the drivers side. That is what I did.

looking good mate just remember with aresol lacqure use lots of it as it never gives a good finish unless you use loads.

ow I wish I had read the above first, I did 6 coats and polished them up, I think they could of done with a few more! can I continue?
