Mark_Dj Would I be able to do a timing belt change on my Astra Gsi Turbo? I would want to do the water pump also. I have never done one before and I am not sure, but I am willing to learn 🙂. I did a timing chain on a Vectra C and all went to plan with some help from here  . Should I give it a go or not? Is the water pump easy enough to do? Cheers
vocky probably easier than a z22se, so go for it 🙂 I can help a little as I have a vectra manual and that explains it quite well on a x20xe
Mark_Dj Cool 🙂. It's got 58000 miles on the clock but when I was running it the other day it had a whirring noise coming from the cam belt area. It's been sat for a while so it might be something a little tight. It's probably best to get it done anyway.
Mark_Dj True, I will be getting the timing belt kit and water pump together if I go ahead and do it myself. I would normally get Vauxhall to do stuff like that. I think it's about £240 for them to supply and fit a timing belt. It was on my girlfriends 1.8 Astra Sxi.
Daz same as doin a belt on a 2.o veccy mark...piece of cake...u done a 2.2 chain so u def shud be able to do a belt n this
Mark_Dj I hope so Daz lol. I've just bought the cam locking tool to help me 🙂. I will be getting a new water pump and timing belt kit soon.
