hi all a mate with a 52 plate 1,6 astra has a problem with his car just been serviced and now has losted power and smokes a bit also has creamy gunk on filler cap and end of dip stick
was thinking head gasket or or engine block cracked
or possibly egr valve problem eml on
will be doing diagnostic
and cylinder head chemicle test monday
any thoughts

EGR Valve didn't throw up an EML on my 1.6, it was just shite to drive.

eml on my mates 1.6 did come up but the sounds of it he mite have a blocked crankcase breather or as you said the oil has emosfined its more then likely the head and gone pop or a nice crack some where. is he loosing water or is the coolant tank pressursing up??
