Funny you should ask that. I made some enqiries with Mark a few weeks back but just couldn't justify the extra cost. It would mean new rods, pistons, manifold, 3" new custom exhaust system front to back and we know how much I've spent on exhausts so far. VXR injectors, raise the compression back by removing the spacer plate and smaller pulley. This would be on the M62 so would be limited really and to get the full potential would have to have the Harrop.

I'd just rather buy a VXR 8!

Hi! May i ask, what should i do to safely extract 400-450 supercharged hp from the z22se?

10000 euros are ok or i need more? I guess Harrop sc, wiseco pistons-rods, saabs crankshaft 2.0, dont know about valves camshafts and springs,

balancer shafts deletion, oil cooler, intercooler(?), ... (help 😃 )

Dont count the exhaust.

400-450 you will need liners, up to about 400 you should be ok, it will make a price difference. If you accept the lower bhp all the info is available you just have to chose the parts from the list and start searching for prices

Go turbo or centrifugal blower (Rotrex)...

If i go turbo i ll have to cut the boot and i dont want to. The centifugal might be a good idea but its untested. I think i ll be the guinea pig 😃 .

Do you know the cost of the liners (including the work)? (more or less). If i go for 400, do we count the parasitic effect? Or i ll be at ±380?

yea LOTS of money has to be spent, I mentioned those figures from the cobaltss.netbut I do wonder about some of the claimed figures from the states.

After a bit of a saga with cams incorrectly setup due to comp cams not placing the locating lugs in the correct position, changing the ecu to a z20let and lots of other niggles we finally got a power run today, so far its mapped up to 6800rpm (7200rpm is about where I want to be) got 360bhp and 299lbs on the standard 80mm Pulley I am informed.

One reason we lost a bit from the original setup I had a couple of years ago is that I was on standard pistons with a decompression plate, these were changed to 8.9 pistons so lost a few bhp. I have a couple of smaller pulleys I can try will speak to Jon about them.

Standard 80mm so 20psi
2.7" = 68.58mm @25.71psi
2.8" = 71.12mm @24.29psiI

The last set of figures to come out were 377bhp and 304lbs at 7300rpm on an 80mm pulley. Temp in the dyno area was about 20 C.

Think I will leave it at that, peak power was about 7300rpm, inlet temp reached 60C so realistically if I want more than say 390bhp I would be into some extra cooling of the intake manifold itself as even extra coolant capacity would just delay the inevitable.

Mapping was MUCH easier with the z20let ecu my 470cc injectors worked fine and weren't maxed running 4.5 bar

so finally finished I hope

For something that weighs in at around 800KG's the acceleration must feel similar to an F1 car.
