2.0 turbo version cam chain question

hi i just seen a turbo coupe on auto trader x reg wit 94000 miles on the clock i rang up and asked him about it and asked if the cam chain had been changed and he said yeah so asked him at what mileage and he said 30000 then went on to say that that was the rec mileage to change them at which sounds a bit like rubbish to me or am i misinformed. also would you touch a car like this with 94000 miles on it for 2995 as i already have a non turbo version on an 03 plate with just 32000 miles on it which according to this guy should have had the cam chain changed at 2000 miles ago i thought it was around 70000 miles for this cam chain

the astra coupe turbo has the z20let engine which has a cambelt, this should be changed every 40,000 MAX.

the cam chain should last 100,000 miles on a 03 plate engine

the price is about right for a 94,000 turbo, certainly worth between £2k and £3k depending upon condition

nice one i wasnt sure of the comparisons between the two.do you know much about the 888 edition cant seem to find much about it is it any good or worth the money does it also have the z20let and what power figures do you get in comparison to the normal turbo version

The 888 is a great car, rare as they only made 100 of them, I think. I think they are 200Bhp standard

And there aren't that many left either, as they get smashed up quite a bit, and the kit costs too much to replace, so they write them off.

£3k does seem really cheap, there is one up for £10k here!

the 3k one was a normal turbo one but ive seen an 02 plate one 888 for 4495 but had 94000 miles on it its been on autotrader for ages (i tried to post a link but it didnt work)
