hello all

i have moved to glasgow and was speaking to a guy who has a 1.8 turbo seat. He has custom a down pipe and also had a de-cat pipe made from a guy near his work. he has got some really good power gains from it.

so i was thinking what if this guy could make me a new down pipe (starting from the flex pipe) and then a strate pipe through where the cat is ment to be????
Then when it comes to the m.o.t i could unbolt it and put my old one back on with the cat in it!

would this work????? and cat i chet the oxygen sencer's?????

also would it be better than a sports-cat? :think:

the z22se ecu doesn't respond well to a decat, best bet is to fit a sports cat

i spoke to a guy 2day from piper how said i am best to get a sports cat

yer get a sports cat, i managed to run my car for 500 miles with no cat and had no eml light and car was fine.

you want a 2.5" downpipe, with no precat, 200 cell sports cat, then 2.5" exhaust system, some god gains there it will be.

can you run a z22se without a cat? if so will i do any damage? :shifty:

you prob get through your centre silencers though as it has on all my cars with decats

rear lambda simulator is a must

i have run both my corsa'a and may old mark4 astra with no cat i had no middle section aswell the power gain was grate.
i can get a decat pipe made for £100 and have the old one modded so i can put it on and take it off when ever i like.

sportscats do em cheap as well

the same people who do hoffman sports cats

i asked em for a decat for my calibra and it cost me peanuts and i knew that it would outlast the car 🙂

Could you elaborate on that for me please... just putting EML on? I get that anyway so wouldn't be too bothered lol

Any major running problems?

i should have the pennys at the end of march for a sportscat or decat pipe but i am still unsure witch path to take.. dunno..
