fibre glass boot lining for 6x9s

hi has anybody got or tried those 6x9 housing fibre glass boot lid things you can get on ebay they look neat but wondered what the sound would be like from them (Item number: 230301620413)

one of my mates has fitted one in his coupe and looks and sounds good and they aint a bade price really either

yep i think the cheapest ive seen is 60 quid it just on the picture it looks like theres no room underneath where the speaker sits or in other words it looks like an exact fit did you mate cut out any of the hole part

I take it having the 6x9's under there is purely for show purposes?

thats the impression i get from seeing the pic i cant see the sound being any good out of them i think all you could expect is a bit of thuding from the boot 😃

That's what I thought. I've seen Coupe's where they have speakers fitted there, and are purely for shows (as you said, no sound in inside the car)

If all you want is some bass, fit a sub, would be a lot cheaper than having for fork out £60 just to fit some 6x9's

i have a sub fitted but i miss the 6x9s and sub combo i had in my last car they were fitted on the parcel shelf in a hatch a sounded mint together although the coupe standard speakers arnet bad at all

If you want decent sound, upgrade the front component speakers mate. A good set of comps running off a good amp sound amazing.

was thinking of this but dont want to ruin the door panel does anywhere do custom door cards for aftermarket speakers or do you just hide them behind the originals ive not had the door panel off yet so not sure how much room there is behind it but would prefer this option coz the standadrd interior is pretty much perfect

The uprated components fit behind the original speaker grills (door card and tweeter). Have a look on www.caraudiodirect.co.uk for ideas. They sell adapter plates as well so the speakers fit properly into the door.

thats what i have done is have uprated one in my front doors and in the rear quater i have fitted my 6x9 there with a bit of modifaction they fit and sound good too.

Not a big fan of 6X9's myself 3 types of sound from one area? much better having some comps placed in the right places for a better sound quality IMO??

i would but i aint got no pics of when i did it.
its quite easy to do tbh just remove the rear quaters cards remove the speaker then u need to cut the inner skin.you need to make the hole longer so u can fit the 6x9 in place then screw them in place.
done.

quite a smiple job tbh mate i used a eletric saw with metal blade so can cut it neatley and easy to use.
