where abouts are these? are they easy to get to to clean?

thinking this might be cause of my p0300 code.

unlikely as it would bring up a code

u changed coolant temp sensor yet

yes mate, changed that. that got rid of the p0300 code. made it run much nicer and icreased mpg!
but then it said it couldnt read egr valve. had one on order, so changed that. running smooth and EVEN better mpg! but now its saying p0300 again!!
but still no sign/sound of it actually misfiring. it could be so little that not obvious.

disconnect the battery for an hour

it is either fuel or ignition if the problem arises again

replace fuel filter would be a good start

get a compression test done

then still no good then go pay vxhall to diagnose fault cos u could keep splashing money on it and never get down to fixing the problem

injectors are expensive as you would have to replace whole lot [ not new], coil pack new is 160, no point getting 2nd hand if you dont know the coil pack is fudged as it could create another problem

crank sensor is cheapish but replacing is time consuming, the starter motor has to be dropped

you cleaned out throttle body yet ?, put any injector cleaner in ?

what would disconnecting the battery do? cause the mechanic reset it. took off any old codes.
it had a new fuel filter in its service (october)
i've been getting these codes read by a local garage. he use a diagnostic machine.
i've got a new coil pack.
gave the throttle body bit of a clean.
used that redx (i think) injector cleaner that goes in the fuel tank.

with crank sensor, didnt you say it would bring up its own fault code though?

u need to book it into a vxhall dealership

they can do more thorough testing other than using an obd2 device on it

actuator tests on all sensors and so fourth

i didnt realise. thought the one the mechanic had would be the same/check the same as a vx dealer.

gonna go back to garage today, see what he says, then if no luck will (regretfully) pay the theives, sorry, dealership, money to do it.
