pre cat removal

i know now why check engine is on- lambda iz craked ;/ i think i broke it when i was plugging back to pipe ;/ eh ,metal cover is very loose on it so thats why its probably showing problem ;/ i have to get new lambda.anyway,thanks lads for help 🙂

Well i had the downpipe off again and gave it a good hoover out, and blown out the lambda sensors just to make sure. Then i took her for a steady drive for a couple of mile just to let the ecu steady its self, just got back and tickover seems fine thank god!!!! I didnt notice much of a difference in sound or performance dont know if i was expecting too much! But just wanted to say thanks to "cpwfos" "marts-astra" and "daniel" for your help. cheers..

Shes fine now thanks lads! Ive only had the car 2 weeks and ive managed to blag my way a k&n, de restrict airbox, new air intake and then the pre cat removal so cant really complain shes quite understanding!! :thumbup:

ive got the pre cat removed on my exhaust system, ive got miltek centre section with magnex 6x4 oval, custiom built down pipe 2.25" with origanl cat welded, and gotta say it does sound really nice, sporty, popping burbleing all the time.. Well worth doing this mod..

When I used to change things about I used to disconnect the battery for 30 mins to an hour. Then I would drive steady not going above 3500rpm for 50 miles. Always worked for me. Glad to hear that you got it all running okay now though!

Will i notice a gain removing the pre cat with the rest of the system standard bar an irmy backbox?

u prob get a bit more noise in terms of the backbox burbling at idle and through the gears

people say u get more bhp or acceleration but i am one of those sitting on the fence 🙂

You will noticed the sound after 3500rpm as for more bhp ardly noticeable like Mikes said above.... however you feel the car pull abit harder at top end not much but its their well it was for me

i didnt notice that much of a difference in sound from the standard exhaust but i did a few mods at the same time so hard to tell which gave it the extra bit of grunt mate?

Well for the free do it yourself mods you wont get much but you do gain so its worth doing that's all that matters............. The best thing to do is give Ur car a gooood service you should notice a difference their to if you ain't already done that m8.

Make sure you get yourself a new downpipe gasket from Vauxhall before you start.

i went to have mine done in may and when the pipework was taken off, the pre cat had already been removed... Bonus
