tyre size

have decided on the tyres im going for Toyo ProxisT1S

the thing is what size do i need the only reason i ask is that on the wheels at the moment they are 215/40/17

but i went to halfords yesterday and all there 17"wheels had 205/40/17 on.

they are to go on these rims

and the car is lowered 35mm

Most the Astra tyre size for 17 Inch are 215.40.17. I have this size on my Astra Turbo, Gsi wheels are the same and the wheels you have come with 215 tyres standard 🙂

Even my 1.6 SXI comes with 215 wide tyres.

Most tyre places assume17 inch rims will have 205 tyres, but you should check in the handbook for optional wheel sizex and see what size tyres they had from the factory. When I bought my new rims the tyre place tried and tried to tell me that 215/40 was not the right size until I showed them the handbook. All their charts and paperwork stated it should be 205.

Never belive what Halfords tell you anyway - didn't they say to somone on here that Vauxhall never made a 2.2 Astra !!!!!!!!!!!

yea i need 215/40/17 i have them ordered should be here tuesday and hopefully have the wheels fitted at the same time 😃

yea for 17" the tyres are £240 delivered then my mate is fitting them for £10 😃
