I'm a Civil Engineer, a lot of our big clients, and the bulk of our work, were housing developers; this has obviously completely dried up. my place has already axed 5-10% of its staff (500-1000) and its highly likely there'll be more redundencies this year if things continue to get worse. At the moment our office has secured work for possibly the next 3-6 months but after that we've nothing. Fingers crossed things will start to pick up....the last thing i need is to be made redundant with my girlfriend about to give birth in the next 6 weeks!!
Its bad times for everyone at the moment, very depressing!
