random misfire!! .please help.

you sure your not burning oil ?

how do your spark plugs look ??

is the cam cover leaking oil or is it just oil spilt during filling ?

when topping up with oil i did spill a fair bit. but would it get all the way to the end?

and those two are at the end where you pour it!!

so they aint manky due to or the cause of my missfire. middle of changing exhaust manifold now. will see wha tthat does!

given up for tonight. trying to fit the poxy manifold!!

managed to put new one on with the new gaskets. put in tight the two bottom end bolts. then started from the drivers side. put in the next thre no problem, but then, for some reason, the holes didnt line up for the remaining 4!!

i had to take out the threaded parts(studs?) to remove it. cause i couldnt drop the precat down cause the rubber mount things that hold the cat part on, have those clips on the end, so i couldnt remove them without breraking them. and didnt really want to leave them without it, cause wouldnt the rubber bits vibrate/bounce off the exhaust brackets?

if they wouldnt, then tomorrow, i will break them off, remove the rubber mounts and drop the downpipe so i can put all studs back in and try it that way.

too late now, gotta go pick up the g/f from work.

and driving her off my little ramps across my drive, god it was loud! and sounded like god farting! bet the neighbours wondered what i was up to now!! lol

i know i should have done this a while back, but gonna get the timing checked.

im gonna get the garage to do it. but how big a job is it? how many hours to check timing?

they can do it with a tech2 or take of cam cover - 10 min job

i got a feeling it is one of your sensors but without the read outs we cant do much

without a tech 2, is the cam cover the same as the rocker cover? (as you know mate, my kinowledge isnt great lol)

which sensors?

gonna have to swallow pride i think, and take it into vx to get them to print off the readings . £74.75!!!!!!

for 10 quid more you can get yourself a gendan reader with software

you just post the sensor values and we can advise you

plus u can use it again when your car goes wrong 🙂

well u can learn a bit more about the z22se engine and the sensors and u can always use it on other vxhall engines

swear this car is cursed!!!!!!

last night, pulling out of a petrol staion and my engine died!!
costed and started her up, then she died again!
then would start at all!!!!!!!!!!

she was turning over but there was no combustion. thought that was it f*****!!!!!!

called the aa out. (he did get to me in 10 min which was result!) he looked over engine, tugged few wires and hoses, everything fine. then went to check fuses. all fine! tried spraying easy start stuff into tb. wouldnt even ignite that. so no spark!!

baffled, he plugged in his diagnostic machine. but it would connect to my car!!!!

so in the end had to tow it to my local garage. went down there this morning to get them to plug there diagnostic in, see if any fault codes were up. theres wouldnt connect. mechanic said "i bet its the fuse for the diagnostic port/ecu" but i re-checked all the fuses. all fine

then i came across the hidden ones behing the battery!!!! where the 3 60A fuses and there it was on the end, the 20A fuse for the ecu/diag port, with a nice big break in it!!!!

all that time and effort, when all it was was a 50p (ish) fuse!! lol

morral of the story...................................know more about cars than me!!! lol

i would replace your 2 purple relays also in engine bay

one os for fuel pump relay and the the other is for the ecu

the two in the box on the passenger side (never got os and ns! lol) at the back of the engine bay? or the front one?

why would you recinmend replacing them? think they could be the cause for the fuse to blow?

2 rear passenger side

one of them is prob hooked up to your blown fuse so i would replace 🙂
