Well, went to see Benny yesterday to do the Cam Belt on my 1.9 CDTI Vectra.
Well worth the 160 mile round trip.
After hearing all the good things about him on here, it would be rude to give my money to just any old Vaux dealership, and after a couple of PM exchanges, the date was sent.
I arrived at his for just before 9, and got to have a quick look around his monster 3lt V6 Vectra Estate, looks absultely brilliant as well, VERY IMPOSING given the size of it.
It was bloody freezing as well, and then inside the garage, it was measuring -1 deg C!
So, the car was on the ramp by 9:40, and he was ready to take the belt off at 10:15! This guy certainly knows his way around a Vauxhall engine.
He was also kind enough to let me watch and was talking me though all the bits and bobs he was doing, and some other general information about the engine.
I also found out from him that Total Vauxhall are directly referring all queries about the 2.2 to our site, and to Benny for any work that they need doing
The belt was back on and running by 11:30, and then the oil change was done.
The Vectra is a right pain in the arse to change the oil filter on, as the filter is located half way up the back of the engine, so upon undoing the filter, oil went everywhere. For some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to place it directly above the exhaust dunno..
All was finished for 12:30! The car is now running sweet as a nut, and I've got peace of mind for another 40k miles, as the Vauxhall service interval for the cambelt leave quite a bit to the imagination!
Cheers Benny
