hiya just wondering if anyone has come across this before . i striped a engine today which had a really bad rattle . thinking it was the chain i took off the parts needed to swap such an item . but when i removed the rocker cover i found 2 of the followers sitting in the head. they are from cylinders 1 and 4 i put them back in as nothing seemed dammaged started it up and it ran awfull did a compression test .
i got nothing on 1 and 4 so took inlet off thinking id be haveing to take head off . once i had manifold off i then redid a compression test and i had compression on all 4 cylinders all be it with no4 being lower im thinking the throttle may have closed on my first tests meaning i got fauls readings
i was thinking it had bent some valves till i got good results from the second test . im not quite sure where to go from here now . maybe check the timing marks but cant see them being out really as the car was running before i striped the parts from it
this is as far as ive got . my unit got very cold so reteated home
any ideas or help appreciated
thanks phil
