Thought that you may have more of an idea than me on this one.
Basically the alternator seems to be only putting out 11.5 v instead of the normal amount. Would it be the alternator at fault or would it be wiring/battery orientated?.
When you drive the battery light will sometimes flicker on/off in a light blue colour. This is easier to see at night obviously and sometimes it does not illuminate at all and other times it flickers all the time. Eventually you start to get the red caution/malfunction lights on the dash as the power drains away in the battery.
I have had a feel/wiggle of the wires and cannot feel any obvious breaks so am vering towards replacing the alternator with either a refurbished one or going via the scrapppy and trying to get one from there.
Has anyone got any idea's because i am 'crap with electrics' but ok mechanically.
On the last point after reading the haynes manual it seems like a big job with a lot of disturbance of systems. Is there an easy way to change it or do you have to grin and just bear it.
