Not easy at all!! Still need help

Hi all. I received my goods from Courtenay Sport (large air intake pipe,sports filter) and installed them tonight. Very fast delivery by the way but can you tell me why the filter to big for the casing and that the adapter in so hard to install. It took me ages to get the standard pipe out and getting the new pipe in was a joke. I still havent got it in correctly. i cant fix the top of the air filter casing to close because the filter is too big, Im so disappointed !! The adaptor has a big kink in it now , im i meant to cut the adaptor back to fit? What am i doing wrong? Please help because my head is wrecked :problem: noth. wtf.gif

hi, i had another go and i managed to at least close the air filter casing but i cant connect the adaptor to the casing , There is a little gap that i cant close which means there wont be any suckion. The adaptor is very big and it just wont sit in the right position. Has anyone had this problem or any problems fitting this mod and what did you do to fixs it cheers..

I assume that you are doing the Vectra C intake mod? If so, this is a pain in the ass to get the pipes to fit together correctly. It will go eventually. What type of filter have you got? Is it K&N or a Courtenay Foam filter?

I fitted the Vectra C pipe to my wifes Zafira and its a nightmare. We also fitted one on Jamee's Astra Coupe at a mini meet and I remember Vocky fighting with the pipe to get it in place.

Hi , its the foam fliter i got and its about 20mm too big. I need to get the adaptor to bend some more some how, maybe heat it up. It adaptor wont stay connected to the air filter case. Pain in the ass but ill get it done .

Ffoeg posted some information last year about using a different pipe material to connect the Vec C intake to the air box.

Do a search for all posts by Ffoeg, and you should be able to find it in there.

I had a mare fitting this pipe to me 1.6, which has quite a bit more room with the engine being the other way around, so I can only imagine how difficult it is on the 2.2

Had a look for Ffoeg but i didnt find anything about the air intake. ill go the local hardware and see if i can get some fexi tube to help it fit

Thanks, thats what i was thinking of doing, dont care how it looks as long as it works. Might paint it black
