buying an astra mk5 sportive se van?

hi guys i need some advice! seeing as i wrote my car off at the start of december i know dont know what to buy, i have been thinking about buying a astra mk5 sportive se van! they are the 1.9 cdti 150 brake model with all the normal sri bits and bobs! they look the nuts as they come with an exteriour package on them and 17's! they list at £12000 plus vat (£1800) round the corner from me so i could get a brand new van for less than £14000K i'm an electrician as a job so i could even use it for work, but i dont need a van for my job at the o2 arena, i will have £2500 to put down as deposit but not sure if its a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!
what do you guys think? cheers..

good vans even better with the DTUK box with it they run at 200bhp and 310lbft when fitted and you get better fuel.

that is what i'm thinking scott! chase astra vxrs about! ha ha, but not sure about the debt though i already have 8k of debt from the crashes!

sounds like a good idea i like the vans they look good, i think the insurance might be a bit steep being a sparky they will presume you will use it for work and presume you will be carrying tools.

the BAD idea is more debt, don't do it cut your losses pay your debts off ! the state of the economy at the moment its not a good idea, been a sparky you shouldn't find yourself out of work.

pay your debts off while young and get yourself sorted!

this is the voice of experience talking , 30 yrs old credit cards and loans 45k+ job and im driving a 2G vectra, get the picture!

you would be better off trying to find a property to buy at least you would have something to show for that debt, wait till prices come down some more.

yeah i know thats what i should do! i hate having 8k in debt with nothing to show for it! i'm just confused at what to do, i loved having a good car but got nothing left and no way of getting back

i like the idea of the van always liked the new astra vans and yeah that be kl playing about wid the vxrs lol what color was ya thinking ??? come to think about i never seen a black 1 ??? do they do em in other colors ????

why not buy a vectra for about 1.5k if you look around you should get one , ok it isnt going to set set the world alight, but it will ok for a bit till you get your money sorted.
