Dilemma, help!!

The last few days my TV has been playing up. The colours have been going funny and the contrast has been really strong and the screen flickering. I went out this afternoon and bought a new Panasonic Viera LCD 1080p HD 32" TV and Panasonic Blu-Ray player.

Now the problem i've got is this. I was watching a DVD on the old telly and noticed that all was fine with the screen. This got me to thinking if the SCART leads were plugged in properly? I've shuffled the Sat box about and now the screen seems fine.

Do I take the new stuff back to the shop unopened or do I keep it as a nice Christmas treat??

what was your old system johnny the panasonic systems are very good and you cant really beat them along with sony and samsung. as these are the 3 companys that make the screens for most of the other cheap tvs out there screens aint as good tho.
i would stick with it as we have a panasonic tv and had it since 37"plasma came out over 5 years ago now and its still going strong nothing burnt out or dead yet lol.
and anway blu-ray is the only way forward.

My old telly is a Philips Matchline 28" widescreen Dolby Pro-Logic. Its so big and heavy that it takes 2 people to carry it. We've had it about 10 years. It just seems mad that I've bought a new telly when there's nothing wrong with the one that we've got as it turns out.

I feel the same Johnny, Kate offered to get me a new tv for Xmas...can`t warrent her spending lots of cash with our relic still working ok.

Keep it mate, and have a nice Christmas present! You'll notice a hell of a difference running blu-ray, that was the only reason I bought a PS3, as we had a 42" HDTV, but no HD source to make the most of it.
