Well, I went for my appointment on Tuesday, so drove to Leeds from Sheffield, and parked in a bloody expensive car park round the corner from the Optimax clinic.
Had my initial eye check and scans done, and then sat around for 30 minutes while they looked them over. Gets taken into see the specialist, and he then asks how old I am, and if I've had any problems with my eyes in the past??
My eyes have been fine, only the fact I'm shot sighted. The scan of my eyes showed I had uneven topology on my cornea (both eyes). Now, this is either caused by a problem with your eyes, or prolonged contact lense wear.
I have daily disposable contacts, however, I wear them from 6am when I wake up, to 11pm when I go to be every day. This is classed as constant wear. So, as it stands now, I'm not suitable due to the uneven topology, but he thinks that I didn't have my contacts out for long enough before the checkup. Why didn't they ask or tell me this before. I took them out 24 hours before like it said, but I should have had them out for a couple of days.
So I've sacked off Optimax, and I've got an appointment with Ultralase in the morning for a second opinion. I've also had my contacts out since Sunday evening now, after the previous comments.
Ultralase have a clinic in Sheffield, which is only a few miles from my house
