Downpipe

As some of you may know the flexi on my downpipe is blowing. :thumbdown: The one i've got on at the moment is mild steel and i've been given a price of £70 to cut out the existing section of downpipe from the flange to just below the flexi and replace with stainless steel. Effectively i'll then have the existing flange, a new (very) short section of SS pipe, new SS flexi pipe and then my existing MS downpipe and sports cat.

Does this sound like a fair price? notsure.gif I expected it to be a little bit cheaper than this. I don't appear to be getting much SS for £70.
Also, are there any issues with welding Mild Steel to Stainless Steel?

supply and fit for £70 is a very good deal, the flexi alone costs about £35

I think that is a fair price, as Vocky says a decent new flexi is around £30 - £40. Have a look here this to buy only

Thats not so bad then, TBH i didn't think the flexi pipe would be that expensive, could have swore I saw them on eBay for £5-10 lol. Must be mistaken!

Out of interest, how much would you charge for a full custom downpipe including welding an existing sports cat in?

What car have you got?

We could use the Astra we got coming in to develop that part. I would expect it to be around £250.00 + vat. We would supply the sports cat tho. We only use motorsport cats.

That would be an extremely good price! My Courtenay S/S 2.5 inch downpipe is awesome! I've got an HJS 200 cell sport cat in mine too. Fits like a glove under the car too.

Its an Astra G SRi Garry. £250 including the CAT is a very good price! When would this be available? 😃
